Electric Eclectics (www.electric-eclectics.com) 2019, August 2 to 4 at the Funny Farm in Meaford, Ontario. I presented my installation 'conversation' in one of the trailers. There were two mics available for people to use to add material to two compositions that I developed, real-time, over the course of the weekend with the intention of generating noise fields out of the material. That was the aesthetic/conceptual model.
Afterwards, I spent some time mixing, didn't really arrange, just left the recordings where they originally landed in the tracks. I just adjusted volume and EQ, and did a little bit of editing so that all of the voices were audible and discernible.
So here are the results!
I was amazed at the response. As you can hear, there were a lot of recordings made and just great stuff. Thank you to all and I hope you enjoy!
about the tracks:
conversation 1: 'Earth Things' - *Warning*, contains swears.
This is obviously the first one recorded - mostly on Friday night and a bit on Saturday. It is fairly sparse for a noise field but I wanted to leave it as is as it is the first and the first is the best.
conversation 2 - Recorded on Saturday and Sunday. Much more material and getting closer to a true noise field.
CSB - (2019,08,16 - 11:49pm) - This is a recording made using my NB software that controls the interactive installation that I presented on Sunday night. See my website for more details: robgillthings.net/nb/.
